How does 1733 Denim Shoppe Measure their jeans?
As many know "tag sizes" can be very different from "actual" measurements. Therefore I list my jeans both ways. The Titles and Categories contain the tag sizes and the measurements in the listings are the actual measurements that I take on each pair of jeans. I HIGHLY recommend, when purchasing jeans online, that you take a pair of jeans that you already have, and like the fit of, and measure them the same way the seller of the jeans you are looking to purchase measures, and compare the two. By doing this, it makes it more likely, that when you receive your jeans you will be happy with the fit. The following explains how I measure the jeans I have listed. How We Measure:Some of our measurements are taken by laying the jeans flat and some are taken by measuring all the way around.

All the way around
WAIST: We measure the waist with the fly and waistband closed. Starting at the inside edge of the overlap and continuing all around the outside of the waistband to the outside edge of the overlap. This is another measurement that often differs from the tag size and again we ask that you carefully read each listing to find the true waist measurement. That's it.....now you know how we measure our jeans and we hope that having this information helps you in making your decision. All customers and potential customers should feel free to email us, with any and all questions pertaining to our items for sale. We will answer all emails within 24 hours. Again our promise:I absolutely vow that I will describe each and every item we list as completely and accurately as is humanly possible."A complete description and great communication are the path to a happy customer." Thank you for visiting our "Measuring Tips" page and please check out the items we have listed! We are looking forward to a rewarding relationship with all our customers. Laying Flat
FLARE: We lay the jeans flat with the front facing up and measure the very bottom of the right leg from the outside seam to the inside seam. That is the measurement that will be in our listing. Say it is 9", the actual opening at the bottom of the leg, all the way around, will be near 18". We list the flat measurement only (9") as it is quicker for us to measure flat. INSEAM: We measure the inside left leg seam. Starting at the crotch seam and going down the inside seam all the way to the hem. This measurement often differs from the tag size and therefore we ask that you carefully read each listing to find out the actual inseam measurement. RISE: We take two measurements for the rise. These are taken with the fly closed and measuring over the closed fly. -One is taken by measuring from the crotch seam up the fly to the top of the waist. This will be the larger of the two rise measurements. -The other is taken measuring from the bottom of the fly, up the fly to the top of the waist. This will be the smaller of the two rise measurements.
